Originally an Abita Brewpub exclusive, Abita’s Strawberry Harvest Ale is back for another strawberry season! It’s kinda like their Purple Haze, but instead of raspberries it’s..surprise surprise.. Ponchatoula Strawberries.
It’s pretty easy to mess up a fruit beer, but Abita seems to be batting a thousand. It’s also a great site to see, walking into The Bulldog on a warm Spring afternoon and seeing almost everyone, men included, with a clutter of strawberry beer bottles in front of them.
Get it while it’s..cold? It wont be around for too long, selling out much faster last year than the year before.

Wish I could get the strawberry up here… Anybody had Abita’s pecan beer yet? I had a couple bottles recently and really liked it, but haven’t found it in stores in PA outside of being included in a variety case.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of Abita Pecan, but that may be just because I don’t really like nut ales.
The Abita Strawberry only makes it about as far north as Kentucky or so

I saw Abita Strawberry Lager in a beer and cheese specialty shop up in Brooklen, NY last summer.

I’m not a big fan of fruit beers but I must admit I like this one. I have one after work everyday until we run out.

I found some of the Strawberry Lager up here in Pennsylvania. Its pretty tasty. I personally like it more than Purple Haze. It always seemed to me like Purple Haze was hesitant with the fruit, but the Strawberry just goes for it.

I am a big fan of Abita beer but I just picked up the Satsuma wit. There attempt, I guess, at a Belgian whit beer with coriander and orange… It is undrinkable… I think there must be some mistake because it is perfectly clear and and the reviews I read said it it a bit cloudy (typical of the style). Anyway I would not give the stuff I bought to my pig. I purchased it at Rouses on Veterans.
