Back for the 2009 Season, Abita’s Strawberry Harvest Lager is hitting stores this week! It’s kinda like their Purple Haze, but instead of raspberries it’s..surprise surprise.. Ponchatoula Strawberries.
Hopefully Abita will be able to make as much as they did last year. The first couple years they made the Strawberry Harvest Lager it sold out within a month, but last year I saw bottles in some stores well into the Fall. The earlier you get it, the fresher and more Strawberryey it’ll be, so go grab a six pack to welcome back the warmth.

I bought some at Rouse’s last night! And if the Rouse’s supply was any indication, they shouldn’t run out soon. They had a MASSIVE display in the produce section.

Yesterday I had the Abita Doppel Bock at Ryan’s - I have not heard this beer discussed much, I haven’t read anything on it, and it was the first time I’ve seen it or had it. Anyway it was terrific, though the flavor was distinctly Abita (is it the nutty quality? Not sure.). Thought you might like to know or see if you have any comments on it. Thanks.
